All the same, but different...

Today was a great day. I awoke renewed and ready to tackle the world. I ran a few errands...one of which consisted of buying paint. For years I've wanted this "living room = school room/office space" painted. Many years ago I had an ambition for an olive green type of color (hate it)...tried another color (hated it more)...tried one more (bombed)...repainted the "test patch" back to olive green...well hubby did anyway. I'm not a really good "color picker outer"...my choices never seem to materialize like I envision them. Today I chose a nice neutral creamish type color...I'm crossing my fingers that it will blend in well with the existing hallway color. Today was to wet and muggy to enjoy painting...so we'll see another day if my "vision" materializes well.

Step 2 was to start to de-clutter this mess of a room...I'm a pack rat sort of gal...and as I confessed a couple of day rather attached to stuff...books, drawings, crafts, pictures...you name it and I can come up with a memory. I'm really sick of the clutter, really, really sick. So...I started a nice big give-a-way box...and a nice big garbage bag and I intend to fill them both! So as I ripping "prized paintings" from my kids off the walls I remembered a while back reading where someone takes a picture of the drawing, craft, etc. That way they have a picture to remember but not the clutter from the actual item, I liked that idea so I've taken a few pictures...it made my heart feel good because although I was able to discard the actual item, I still have it :~)

After all wouldn't it pain any mama's heart to discard a precious masterpiece such as this?
By my very cool oldest...some point, some year.

or this...
By my very dear youngest...some point, some year.

How about these gems?

Created just for me at Valentines...some year!

So...progress was definitely made...still lots to do but all in all a great day.
