Eeeek, I forgot to dye the eggs and other news...

This morning I woke up at my usual time...swept the floor, tinkered the the litter boxes because my dear sweet hubby told me he felt like a cat with a piece of tape stuck to his foot. It seems that every time he walks past the litter box he steps on litter so then he has to shake his foot to lose it...lol. The picture in my mind made me giggle...after all, I know from first hand what that feels like...lol. The litter box is on the hardwood floor, so I simply needed to add a rug and adjust things a bit.

As I then worked in the kitchen it dawned on me that I had not planned our annual Easter egg dyeing day...honestly, my first thought was...well, the kids are getting older, do we really have to? Of course we do, Kaitlyn is just now 9 and she deserves the same fun as Andrew has always had...bah hum bug (can you use that at Easter?) I find that the older my kids get the less I feel like going all out, I mean I've spent 12 years doing it all and feel that I've done it well and given great memories...then I always remember my baby girl. Maybe in about 4 more years, once she turns 13 I can relax and let them (her, because Bubba will be 17!!) be in charge for a while. Ages and stages...just ages and stages.

.
Luckily for me my head was screwed on straight the last time I shopped and bought the eggs needed for said event, yea! I had all the supplies...just needed to add the effort and time. I'm looking forward to some yummy egg salad!

Moving on to the next topic...
I'm STILL working on this mess of a house. I just don't seem able to motivate myself to get it cleaned up...partly do to limited space, but mostly do to lack of ambition. I did tackle some of it today but the best thing I think I can do is seriously reconsider what I'm keeping and why. I found a neat site today on de-cluttering, one tidbit was to make a "maybe" box and put things you think you "might" need. Mark you calendar for 6 months and come that time if you've not used anything out of the box you can basically chunk it to the donation destination of your choice. That's a good idea for me to ponder...and I think I have the perfect box!
.
The cats...well, the cats have still not yet made friends. They are trying and if they keep their paws off each others face they might make progress...lol. Nothing like a little smack to your nose when trying to sniff out the competition.
.
Here's hoping the oldest heads to bed early tonight...the Easter Bunny is suppose to hop to town tonight! HAPPY EASTER!
