Happy Easter...

Today was a very laid back unusual Easter day. For the first time in a very long time we didn't make it to church on Easter morning. Vic didn't get home until around 4:00 in the morning...and of course with whole rat drama, emotionally we were spent. Mom joked that we just left more room for the Easter church crowd to sit...and that's true, I find it interesting that people skip church all year but feel convicted to attend on Easter Sunday. Vic and I used to be like that in our early days, I think we mostly attended out of guilt or obligation then...that is until kiddos. Now of course since we've aged, have a renewed understanding of our faith and grown spiritually we love attending our church...we don't do so out of guilt, but desire...we love our church family...our pastor...and ministries, and since we attend quite regular I was quite okay with staying home...I'm sure God's more than okay with it :~)
.
The Easter Bunny was good to the kids...although I've heard that he/she might be growing a bit weary with time and just may be looking forward to retirement in the very near future!

Every year the silly Easter rabbit litters our yard with eggs...it's such a cool sight and one that I love waking up to!

Ang with a huge bunny found in his basket, yum!

Kait with a movie from her basket.

I made a sausage, egg & biscuit brunch, we read some scripture, watched an Easter program and then hid eggs...mom came over to visit and egg hunt for a while later in the afternoon.
.
Andrew was sad but was trying to enjoy the festivities. I decided to raise the bar and pay 5 cents per egg found...I know, it was cheap, but he needs every nickle he can get to supply his Lego addiction! I decided that next year I'm filling the eggs with money...seems to make the same old game of egg hunt a little more competitive and fun!
