So...in the meantime, I promised that the next time we're at church and/or in public that I'd yell in my cheery embarrassing mom voice "YOU WHO, ANDREW!"...That’ll show him what embarrassing is! I also told him I'd be talking with the youth leader about ME heading up a class and making sure ALL his friends are in there and he could be the teachers pet! (insert evil laugh) ...yes...do let the fun begin!
In all seriousness...I totally remember being embarrassed of my own parents...our car...our home, etc. I know it's a stage...one that comes with growth and the desire to spread one's wings...but gee-whiz, just because I know this little tidbit of information did not make the reality anymore easy to swallow. I mean, it just wasn't that long ago that I was...well, funny, coolish, awesome, the best, but certainly not embarrassing!
Like I always say...ages and stages, its just ages and stages!
Oh...and babe, if you're reading this...YOU embarrass him too! Especially at Kohl's with the jean trying on incident! Just sayin...
I remember being embaressed of my parents, home, etc. Lucas never showed embarassment or shame of what we drove, where we lived, or Frank, me OR Toby...when he very well should have been. :-)
ReplyDeleteSummer on the other hand has been being embarassed by us for the last year. I am looking forward to her teenage years when her embarassments will branch out.
Well, I think you're totally cool! He doesn't know what he's talkin' about!
ReplyDeleteI don't really remember being embarrassed by my folks...I remember mostly them being really mean and awful! *said in true dramatic teenage fashion* So on the occasion I am accused of being mean, I tell Archie I come by it honestly! I yam who I yam!
