Sickly, Field-Tripless and the Sweet Sound of Music...

So here I am again...another quite...well, pretty quite anyway, rather uneventful day. The oldest is still complaining of belly upsets, while the youngest is hacking away.

I made another donation to my cover school today...it wasn't intended to be a donation as we were scheduled to go on a field trip this morning to the local art museum along with a play at the local small theater. Typical for us and because I was required to prepay for the event, someone caught a bug or bugs in our case. Which reminds me...why don't people stay home, or better yet, keep kids home if they are snotty, hacking, spewing (either end) or have some other questionable ailment?

As I began my day I continued to reflect on the piano piece I'm am currently tackling..."Mary Did you Know?"...I can't think of a better piece of music to reflect the awesomeness of the season.
.
As a child I don't really remember "asking" to take piano lessons and I certainly don't remember enjoying them, or practicing...guess that's why I quit twice. Strangely, although I quit, I retained a smidgen of music reading knowledge that allowed me to become a member of the flag corp in high school...which incidentally was the highlight of my school career. At 41, I found a strong pull to start "playing = learning" the piano again. My handsome man allowed me to purchase a piano with the excuse that I wanted to "teach" the kiddos how to play. The kids are "learning = allowed to tinker as they please" the piano...but it is I who is enjoying the sweet sound of music coming from my own fingers. Thank you mom for "forcing = allowing" me the fine privilege of lessons early in life, even though I totally didn't appreciate them, whined and wasted your money at the time...I can certainly say without a shadow of a doubt that I appreciate it now!
