Traveling to Louisiana...

Sunday was the day we chose to leave the comfort of Alabama and travel to Cajun country...Louisiana. Hubby was born in St. Martinville...raised in Catahoula and his mom now lives in Breaux Bridge. We have made that 4 hour drive and traveled down those long, twisty, bumpy roads for almost 22 years. Hubby has a very large family...a very large, friendly and welcoming family...a family that loves to party and has a party for every occasion :~)

Maw Maw made rice dressing (my favorite, yum), some sort of roast (again, yum), potato salad, green beans and of course pecan pie! I took a Monkey bread which was met with fondness.

This was a nice visit...just hubby's Mom & step-father, brother (and family) and sister (and family) were there. Hubby's oldest sister "KiKi" died this last September, but her youngest son was able to come....his god-mother and her family have basically adopted him as their own and he seems very, very happy, we are so grateful. KiKi's oldest boys and families/girlfriend came as well.
