We left around 5ish a.m. on Wednesday, January 21st. We knew it would take about 13 hours with stops to eat, potty breaks, etc.
This is how we spent the majority of our time...with two rugrats having good moments...
Some funny moments...
and of course there were just moments!
In the past I've always dreaded the long and boring trip through Alabama...anyone that has taken that trek can understand. This time was no different, however, this time I took time to really look and our state...what I found is that Alabama is quite beautiful. You have the sunny south which has it's own coolness. But then go north and you start to see the land change and wonderful mountains start to appear. I saw a breathtaking view of Birmingham at night that made me long to live on a mountain and see a city in the valley below.
We finally took time to stop and pose for a picture.

I'm afraid that our fine city of Mobile has perhaps tainted my view of Alabama. Although I "like" the City of Mobile, I am in no way "in love" with it. There are many things that bug me about our fine city...many of which have to do with it's fine citizens.

I need to step back and focus on the beauty of this fine state...perhaps I just need to venture away from the city a little more often.
fun! i know what you mean about the long trek up through our state :) like you, during my last time up and out, i found it to be really beautiful, especially from b'ham northward. i love the mountains and much prefer them to the beach, but this is where i was planted - here in this "great" city (well, county for me) I feel you there, too and dread going to our city to mingle with so many of the fine citizens there :) actually, i find myself never any closer than the west mobile target or the west reg. library. it's as close to the city as i can honestly stand.
