This morning I went to the eye doctor. I went because I was noticing vision changes...like small print was now unable to be read and all....I also "thought" it had been a couple of years since I'd been and found out I had not been since 2005, oopsie...time certainly does have a way of slipping by. Anyway...I left with no prescription change, but with the recommendation that I get "reading glasses" to slip on when I need to read it...but funny thing is I wear contacts and the reading glasses would actually be used with them! Huh? Don't you wear contacts to avoid glasses? So...now I not only will wear my "normal" everyday glasses (for at home), but I'll also wear my contacts (for public wear) and will need to add a pair of readers...or just avoid small print! Hmmm, I guess this is one of the benefits of aging...
Since hubby was working today, we celebrated with my birthday lunch yesterday. I picked China Doll, my favorite local Chinese food joint. I allowed myself to have an egg roll and one piece of General Taso Chicken, along with lots of yummy green beans, broccoli and a smidge of veggie fried rice, dumplings & sweet & sour sauce, YUM-MO! I'm afraid that I've indulged a little to freely at the "eat out" joints because today was another weigh in...and rather disappointing. We have eaten out a lot this week and although I've made wiser choices, it shows that I've not consumed enough water and stayed away from carbs. So...despite that today was my special day, I'm fasting and therefore we did not have a special birthday treat. I've worked much to hard to sabotage my weight loss...besides, Kaitlyn's birthday is just a short few days away and I'm sure to have a treat then...hopefully.
I got some really great gifts...my sweet hubby have me a "Jesus Fish" to go on my new car along with some moo la to buy my special whatever I wanna buy, whenever I wanna buy it.
Mom treated me to new "Silver" crocs (anyone who knows me knows that I LOVE my crocs!)...and some moo la.
Andrew, sweet Andrew, got me a rose bush that we could plant together and an arbor in which to build a special garden around. He knows that I have always wanted a butterfly garden...we will begin work on this...and soon.
My special Kaitlyn gave me a new super duper "dust buster"...boy did I need one and yes, I am THRILLED to have it! Don't you hate when they won't hold a charge and you can't finish the job? Her puppet "Snowy" gave me a "homemade" ring, bracelet & necklace...who can't find pleasure in the sweet unselfish heart of a child?

Later we went to a friends house and spent the afternoon basking in the sun, chit-chatting and just enjoying life.

Who could ask for a better day? Not I...I am 42 years young with a thankful heart, smile on my face and a skip in my step. Thank you God for an amazing family, wonderful friends...and another day of life.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Glad you had a good one. :-)
