Tedious Thursday...

Today got off to a slow start...I was just pooped out and did not want to drag my carcass out of bed. The kids must have felt the same way because they didn't get up until much later as well. After a nice cup of java and little chit chat with hubby, he pointed out a snail crawling along the sidewalk which I felt a inspired to try and photograph...which led me to noticing a rock which sparkled...and than to noticing the drops of rain on a Lilly. Before I knew it I was walking through the yard taking photos of spiders, the hydrangea and attempted a shot of the baby birdies. It got me to thinking about all the the simple beauty that surrounds me everyday that I never stop to admire...usually because of life obligations. One of my favorite things in the world is to simply walk around my yard admiring nature...and sadly one the things I do least is simply walking around my yard admiring nature.

Afterwards the kids had made their way out of bed and had breakfast. Proudly they finished school pretty quickly which left us with the whole afternoon in which to fit in all the stuff on the to-do list: Recycle, donations, shopping for undies, t-shirts & swim trucks for the boy, goggles for the girl, flea stuff for the dog and of course milk...what is life without running out of milk!

Amidst all the above I've been having some pretty deep conversations with my little. It was apparent early on that my two kiddos would be different...how different I could have never imagined. Life with a daughter is handing me new challenges...life with MY daughter has changed the game plan of parenting...some days I feel so blessed by both her inner and outer beauty and then there are days...there are days that leave me feeling both deflated and defeated.

I'm ending this day after having cooked yummy Digornio pizza, listening to the rain and thunder and the anticipation of some much desired t.v. time.

  1. I know what you mean about admiring the beauty around you. Just today I was pitying myself because lately I haven't been able to get out and do much picture taking. I then thought about how much there probably was to take pictures of right in my own yard. Great post.
