This morning I was awakened by my sweet girl telling me she started the laundry...my first thought was grrrreat...but my first words were "thank you", of course :~) I was worried because we has just bought new clothes and Andrew has bought a new pair of very dark denim shorts...the kind you need to wash separately first, not with all the light colored clothing and brand new white socks! Sure enough when I peeked in the washer the water was dark blue...I quickly rinsed them, separated the colors and rewashed. Luckily all were saved and the good deed appreciated.
.
I think her good deed was because she was excited to wash and wear that brand new pink bra! What'cha think?
.
Andrew was involved in making a homemade wax bomb of some sort...one left over plastic Easter egg, several slightly used birthday candles, one newly bought lighter and two firecrackers. It was a tedious job and I'm fairly sure that he'll be tweaking this invention...just as soon as I take him to BigLots for a larger candle!
.
Later I decided that we (Kaitlyn & I) would tackle her room and purge it of unnecessary items that seem to accumulate over the months. Typically I purge it in December just before Christmas. We worked probably 3 hours, removed a huge box with donated items, one bag of trash, one box of crafting items that need to be returned to the crafting items closet and one box of stuff that needs to find it's way to a new home for retirement. A good vacuum and dusting and her room looked great. What I was hoping to find and didn't was the Nintendo DS Dog game that has been missing for weeks...this is the second DS Dog game she has lost...silly little games and silly little girls who can't keep up with them, grrrr!
.
I soon discovered that Andrew and his buddy were playing with fireworks...making forts and shooting each other with bottle rockets out of old golf clubs...
.
.
...only minor wounds and no emergency room trips...with these two boys, I'd consider this a great day!
Well...I couldn't really see the new cute pink bra itself. Did you know that bottle rockets are illegal to sell in Austin??? Seems the climate is too dry here to sell them....I really don't know how they are different than any other firework. They burn just like the rest of them..
