What happened in August? ...

My sweet baby girl had to have 8 baby teeth pulled...

...She did a great job and not only does she have 8 less teeth to brush, but she racked up on some pretty cool prizes from Dr. Mike. The tooth fairy treated her exceptionally well and shelled out a whopping $5 bucks per tooth. The poor fairy must have a rough go with all the loot because the next morning we found almost all the coins laying along the sidewalk and in the grass. We could only figure that on her flight in and her wee little body that she scraped her bag on the concrete and it sprung a leak!

Annie Bell & Kaitlyn enjoying some forbidden couch time...I say forbidden because the cat is not supposed to be on the furniture! To bad she's so cute!

A random photo taken by my budding shutterbug. I think it's beautiful!

On a father/son day out the 13 year old took a go at driving the boat. It appears that it was greatly enjoyed.

We found this little treasure all tucked away after returning home one night. We never found out what kind of bird it was...and he/she only stayed a couple of days, but it was neat none the less.

What else happened in August? According to the calendar it was chocked full of youth puppet practice...homeschool yearbook club...the beginning of our Lego Club...a new cover school kickoff and my new volunteer position at the church as an Usher.
.

August also held a family movie night and play dates with friends.
.

We spent more time at a car dealership then we cared to...but in the process found and purchased a brand spanking new 2010 Honda Pilot.
.

I also took Andrew to the doctor for the first time in almost 4 years...cost me $81 to find out he had a virus. Yep...hubby wanted me do it...and because I love him I did. But I gnashed my teeth and banged my head the whole way there. Don't even get me started on my anti-doctor/medicine soapbox!
.

Oh...and the highlight of August was having our stupid Cockatiel fly away, totally my fault. I spent 3 long days standing outside whistling, watching, following and praying for that dumb bird to come home...and in the end he did. I was more than happy to grasp his feathered body and snip those flight wings right off!

  1. Glad to see you "back"! I agree about doctor visits. We don't go to the doc unless we are on our deathbed....God only knows what else you would catch while your in there.
