I've over the years I've thought about my beloved "Goulash"...and think perhaps I've even attempted to duplicate it in the past. More recently in needing to make a dinner out of nothing and an attempt to use what I had, I found that I had those ingredients needed to make this dish. I did change things up a smidge because I used some left over Prego...but here's the basic recipe...substitute as needed or desired.
Poor Man's Stew
1 lb. ground beef
1/2 jar/can (more or less) or spaghetti or pizza sauce
1 can of tomato sauce
1 16 oz bag of any or mix of pasta
3-4 cans of water depending on how stewish or soupish you'd like it
Seasoning of choice - I use chili powder & onion powder to taste...may add others depending on the batch.
In large stock pot, brown beef...add sauces, seasoning and water, bring to boil and add pasta. Cook until pasta is to your liking. Serve with cheap white bread or homemade depending on your budget. Enjoy!
This is a pretty regular request from my oldest...and we all love it!
