In keeping with the theme of the week I wrote Fabulous on my title...but in reality I'm not so sure I'm feeling it. Coming off of a very long and greatly enjoyed spring break tied in with the fact that I hate formal schooling...5 days of book academics is ABOUT TO KILL ME! I do this every time...and this is why we usually only complete 3! Okay...let me rephrase that...5 days of book academics WITH MY DAUGHTER is about to kill me...lol.
On the upside...my sweet hubby brought me a beautiful peace lilly, Kaitlyn a purple violet and Andrew a dark chocolate candy bar, just because he loves us. I had to joke with him and ask if he'd been a naughty boy...or if he needed something :~) ...because we girls know what it means with your man brings you flowers unexpectedly! All jokes aside, I am truly blessed with my man and never have to worry about him straying away...and he the same with me. Thanks honey :~)
Kaitlyn had another playdate with the Molly girl today. She of course had a blast and came home with lots to share :~)
Last week I scheduled a playdate for Andrew. There are days that I would love this friend to call and actually initiate a playdate and invite my boy over...he'd love to go...he needs to go. I'm just not sure why it never happens and I'm not quite sure how to approach it...it's not like you can just force your kid to be invited, ya know. I'm sure she has her reasons. I did discuss with her if it would be okay for the boys to talk on the phone and perhaps arrange their own hangout times. I think that at age 13, Andrew should be capable of making call to a friend...and if he's desiring to hangout, he should also be capable to working it out. I don't remember my mom ever making "playdates" for me!
Once the playdates were over my two quickly became annoyed with each other and of course that rippled to me...but by the time we sat down to dinner and ate a bite or two, we, (I) had calmed down and we enjoyed a nice peaceful dinner together. I have sent them to their designated sleeping areas, but not as punishment as intended.
Life with children...never a dull or quite moment!
Oh...and tomorrow I'm sleeping in!! WOOHOO!!
Yay for sleeping in! Me too! And speaking of sibling brouhahas, you know we have our share of those as well. And oh my goodness, as Providence would have it, the movie tonight had a brother/sister relationship theme going big time. I was boo-hooing by the end. I think it even had my little ones thinking a little about appreciating one another. The movie itself was not the best movie I've ever seen by any means . .the critics would rip it to shreds, no doubt. . . but it was dead on for what was good for all of us tonight. Summer of the Monkeys. .who would have thought?
